RESTORING ALL THINGS .. BRIDGING THE GAP
BETWEEN SACRED AND SECULAR
“And we know that in all things God works
for the good of those who love him, who have
been called according to his purpose.”
Romans 8:28 (NIV).
How many times have you heard this Scripture
in reference to tragedy? Suffering? Wrong
doing? For example, “I know that your house
just burned down, but from out of the ashes,
God will bring about some good in your
life.”
Have you ever considered this application
truly IN ALL THINGS? How about our
involvement in sports, politics, hobbies,
vacations, jobs, clubs, house hold chores,
shopping, baking, gardening, etc.
The Word of the Lord says that God works for
the good of those who love him, in all
things. That is, God is in the midst of all
things that touch our lives. How can
baseball be secular if God is working in it
for our good, or the good of others? How
about hunting, fishing, hiking, boating,
camping, bead work, cooking, dancing, etc.
God, our Father Above, is working, toiling
with His Spirit and His Son, in all things,
for the good of His children … His creation.
Not only is God working in all ‘doing’
(physical) things, but He is working in all
‘thinking’ (mental) things and all ‘feeling’
(emotional) things. We have been taught that
the negative in the natural world will be
worked out for some spiritual good in our
lives, based on this Scripture. However, I
believe that the principle is so much
bigger, wider and deeper than we can
imagine.
God, being Sacred, is working in all things
for the good of those who know Him by name
and call on His name and who are made in His
image! In a sense, Sacred is in the midst of
all things for His good purpose in our
lives.
... More on this subject in the weeks to
come ..

Ministry Updates
ACROSS TURTLE ISLAND - 4 Years of
Broadcasting
On May 6, 2006 we will have been
broadcasting Across Turtle Island for four
years. Our first program included music by
Broken Walls, Bill Miller and Clear Water
Ministries.
We've played the music of several Native
American / Christian artists ... a list
appears on our site. Music ranging from
pow-wow style, to contemporary, to rock, to
hip-hop and rap. Artists from all across T
urtle Island, as well some inter national
indigenous music. (For a list of artists,
visit:
www.runningbrookministries.com/ati.htm )
We've highlighted local events as well as
National and International events. We've
honored veterans and tribal elders. We've
spoken on relevant issues and often given
inspiring messages, as well as discussed
history.
Many people listen on the radio, some on the
internet and many many people read these
posts, not having had the opportunity to
actually 'listen' to the program. However,
we have had people log-on and actually h ear
the broadcast in foreign countries. Amazing.
(BTW: Archives of most of the text messages
are available at
http://AcrossTurtleIsland.injesus.com )
We want to celebrate the last four years by
playing YOUR favorite music and sharing YOUR
thoughts. We invite you to send an email to
jenycovill@gmail.com or send a postcard
to: PO BOX 2870, Columbia Falls, MT 59912.
Tell us why you like our program / emails
and tell us how your life has been touched.
Give us your name, where you are from, if
you read the emails or listen to the
broadcast, give your tribal affiliation if
applicable and tell us your favorite Native
American Christian artist, CD and / or song.
We will share your words with our audience
and play the song for you!! THANK YOU for
your support.
AFRICA OUTREACH
We have about 12-15 people interested in
going. The last time I called the travel
agent, it will cost roughly $3300.00 /
person. To date, we have received $330.00 in
designated funds for this outreach. That is
only 1% for 1 person! We believe we are
supposed to go to Africa. However, we also
believe God is saying, "Not Now". So, this
trip is on hold until the Lord provides.
Thank you so much for your prayers and
encouragement regarding this trip. Please
continue to pray for Pastors Daniel and
Christine Oyoko in Homa Bay, Kenya, Africa.
TRAIL OF TEARS CHEROKEE LEGACY
Rich-Heape Films has just completed a new
documentary DVD about the Trail of Tears. It
is presented by Wes Studi (Cherokee) who
speaks in Cherokee with English subtitles!
It is narrated by James Earl Jones. Other
celebrity voices include: James Garner,
Crystal Gayle, John Buttram, and Gov Douglas
Wilder. Several people speak on the film,
including Wilma Mankiller. It is a great
movie. We received a copy this week and have
been really enjoying it. In the first half
of the film topics include the Christian
missions role as agents for the civilization
of the Indians, as well as the Christian
missions role in confusing the gender roles
of the Cherokee people. It reflects the
Cherokee heart for embracing new ways and
technology, as well as Sequoyah and his
invention of the Cherokee written language.
Note that some believe that when Sequoyah
invented the written language, he DID NOT
intend for the Christian missions to use it
for translating the Bible and hymns.
We are planning to have a community showing
of the film on Tuesday, May 23 - the
anniversary of the beginning of the Trail of
Tears. Location and Time TBA.

MONTANA JESUS VIDEO PROJECT
Many have asked for an update regarding the
Montana Jesus Video Project. We are
preparing for our first mailing, which will
be to the communities of Bigfork, Condon,
Lakeside, Marion, Salmon Prairie, Somers,
Swan Lake, Whitefish and Woods Bay. For more
information, visit
www.everymontanahome.org .
DEADLINES: For churches & communities
ALREADY involved in the JVP project, funding
deadlines are as follows:
(1) July Funding Deadline for September
Mailing.
(2) October Funding Deadline for December
Mailing.
For churches and communities NOT already
involved in the JVP, there is a JUNE
deadline. For a new 'zipcode area' to be
included in a JVP mailing, there must be
some kind of contact made between a local
church and the JVP committee by JUNE 2006.
Is your community involved??
NATIVE COMMUNITIES: The communities of Ronan
and Polson on the Flathead Rez have received
some funding towards their 'zip code areas'.
Cut Bank, MT on the Blackfeet Rez, as well
as Colstrip, MT on the No. Cheyenne Rez have
also received funds. However, these
communities have not met their total funding
requirements. We also need to confirm that
there are churches involved who are meeting
the necessary requirements .. (1) prayer,
(2) funding and (3) follow-up strategies.
For each mailing in a 'zip code area' ,
statewide, there must be a local fellowship
of Believers who are committed to meeting
these requirements. Is your local church
involved?
