Rev Jen Goes To Washington - October 20-23, 2004
When ever I think of Washington DC, I think of
that old movie from 1939 with Jimmy Stewart,
"Mr. Smith Goes To Washington".
I have recently been invited to go to Washington
DC on October 20-23, 2004 for the America For
Jesus Rally. The plan is that I will go with
some friends of mine, Sara Cooper and Leslie
Toman, and we will meet up with Dr. Mel Glenn,
Executive Director of the Foundation for Moral
Law (www.morallaw.org); Donna Bosn, He Knows My
Name (www.hkmn.net); Marshall & Lauretta Tall
Eagle, Designers of the Warriors Medal of Valor
(www.marshalltalleagle.com); as well as some
other friends and believers. We will be involved
with some of the platform activities during the
rally that will take place at the National Mall.
Please keep us in prayer as we raise the funds,
make the travel arrangements and as we do
whatever it is that our Creator and Savior has
asked of us to do. We'll send a report of the
rally ( and of the new National Museum of the
American Indian) when we return!

Annual Nomee Memorial Pow-wow - October 29-31,
2004
Quickly approaching is the Annual Nomee Memorial
Pow-wow on the Coeur D Alene Indian Reservation
in Worley, Idaho. This is the pow-wow that is
held every year by Wilma Bob and her brothers
and sisters, as they honor their parents who
have crossed over. I have had the wonderful
privilege to go to the pow-wow and help out a
few times. Her family is wonderful and the
pow-wow is a good experience. I encourage any of
you who can, to come out and support the Bob
Family, as well as Wilma's brothers and sisters,
as they honor family and their parents. You can
contact Tom & Wilma Bob at: PO BOX 362, Worley,
ID 83876. (208) 686-9357. wbob@cdatribe-nsn.gov
Also ... The Bob Family will be hosting the
Convocation of Eagles Gathering next year. The
dates will be August 28- September 2, 2005. The
meetings will be at Ross Point in Post Falls,
ID. Then the church services will be at the
Gateway. More information will come together
when the Bob's return from Uganda, Africa!
Reports on Peru, Convocation of Eagles and More
....
Can you believe it has been three months since
our last newsletter? Where has the time gone? I
don't know about you and your families, but for
us it has been very busy.
PERU: Wado! Thank you all for your prayers and
support toward the trip to Peru with Rett &
Sherrill Bragg, World Outreach Ministries. The
Lord's provision was wonderful! We received the
invitation with 10 short days to raise money,
get immunizations, schedule childcare, find
enough powerful bug spray and board the plane to
Lima.
The trip was life-changing to say the least. I
still have not written a complete report about
the trip, although I've shared a little bit here
and there. We have the majority of the pictures
posted on the web-site at
www.firstnationsmonday.com . I encourage you to
take some time to look them over.
So many things impacted me and I learned a lot.
It is hard to remark on just one or two things.
Yet, what comes to mind right this very moment
is the little peruvian girl selling candy on the
street, the little Ashenika boy who had burned
his toe by rolling into the fire during the
night, one of the Ashenika chiefs who wore
beautiful yellow feathers and the many Ashenika
women who were so warm and friendly toward us.
The Ashenika people of Obenteni are truly
knitted in to my heart. Please pray for them!
CONVOCATION: The Convocation of Eagles national
Native American Christian prayer and worship
gathering was a huge success. Again, I haven't
written a complete report, but I had tried to
share a little here and there. Even a month
later, I am hearing, for the first time, many of
the testimonies of people who attended the
gathering.
One of the miraculous things is how the heavens
opened up and the rain was brought forth. Since
Convocation, we have had rain fall nearly every
single day. Today is the first day of sunshine
since August 15th. It is so nice to see green
grass and the rivers flowing above their normal
height. However, the farmers are a little
disturbed as it made harvest difficult this
year. (smile). People are asking if we can do a
reverse rain dance!
We have posted hundreds of pictures from the
gathering on the internet at
www.firstnationsmonday.com . My dad, Jack High,
took all the pictures. He did a great job!
Thanks Dad! I encourage you to take a few
moments to look through the pics.
HFTN CONFERENCE: In between the trip to Peru and
the Convocation of Eagles was the Annual
Indigenous Christian Leaders Gathering hosted by
Lockley & Traci Bremner, Healing For The Natives
Ministry. Every year they host a family camp and
leadership gathering on the Flathead
Reservation. This year special guests included
David Gomez, Pastor of the Jerusalem Center in
Southern Oregon. It was awesome to see Brother
Gomez again. The Lord ministers through his
servant, David, in wonderful and powerful ways..
JESUS WAR PONY MEDICINE LODGE: On August 26th I
was asked to be one of the platform speakers of
the Church Car Clinic. I was blessed by the
opportunity to open the meeting in prayer and
share a bit about our ministry. The Church Car
Clinic ( Or what I jokingly refer to as the
Jesus War Pony Medicine Lodge) is a para-church
ministry that provides free automotive repair to
people in the community. I'm really excited to
see ministries such as this immerge. They have a
heart for helping those in-need in real
practical ways. I'm even more excited when
para-church ministries and organizations want to
partner with Native Ministry!!
MILE STONE: David and I just celebrated our 15th
Wedding Anniversary! Praise the Lord. We took in
a movie at the local theater. However, that
wasn't all. Later in the month we continued our
celebration by staying at the Glacier Park Lodge
in East Glacier.
GLACIER PARK WEDDING: On September 19th we were
honored to be invited to the marriage ceremony
of Lou & Alicia. Not only that, but I was asked
to be the officiating minister! What an honor!
The marriage ceremony had elements of a
traditional Euro-American wedding and a
traditional Native American ceremony. I was
dressed in full regalia, and the bride and groom
were in native/ western wear. Lou is Blackfoot &
MikMaq and Alicia was born and raised in
Cutbank, near the Blackfeet Reservation. Both
Lou & Alicia have worked with and among our
Native people. They have a genuine respect for
our culture. It was a beautiful marriage
ceremony!
As you can see, it has been a busy and
fulfilling summer! Please pray with us, as I had
purposed in my heart to 'slow down' ministry
wise, once the convocation was over. I would
like to spend more time with my husband and
family, getting our household in order before
winter. However, it seems that the Lord has a
different picture of 'slow down' than I do.
(smile). Or should I say, I had a different idea
of what that would look like. Praise the Lord, I
have had a chance to straighten up my kitchen
.... something long over due!

What's On The Horizon???
TONIGHT: This evening Dave and I will be
attending a 'Leadership Appreciation Dinner' at
our church, New Covenant Fellowship. This truly
is a blessing, as we are still getting to know
the people here. We are still building
relationship and trying to stir-up an interest
for Native people and ministry among the people
of this congregation. So the invitation to this
dinner came as a surprise and we are very
blessed.
TOMORROW: Early in the morning Leslie Toman and
I head out to Butte, Montana for a prayer
gathering hosted by Georgia Penniman ( YWAM) and
Marilyn Zimmerman (Aglow). This event has been
advertised as both an opportunity for Montana
based ministries to join together in unity, as
well as a time of prayer for Israel on Yom
Kippur ( Day of Attonement).
TOMORROW NIGHT: Then Leslie and I will drive
back this way for a small, intimate women's
retreat. There is a handful of us that gather
regularly for prayer. Tomorrow night and Sunday
we will spend in a time of prayer and
fellowship, seeking the Lord on behalf of our
families and our communities.
HEALING CIRCLE: We have started the Healing
Circle weekly gathering again. This will be our
third time of facilitating this study. We meet
on Wednesday nights in our home in Columbia
Falls. September 29th will be our second meeting
and we are expecting about 10-15 people. We sure
would appreciate your prayers for the meeting
and the people attending. There is always such a
deep and wonderful work of the Lord. There is
also much spiritual warfare. For more
information on The Healing Circle Bible Study,
view the web-site at www.healingtheland.com.
MORNING PERSONALITY: Starting October 7th I will
be joining the KALS 97.1 FM Christian Radio
staff as one of the Morning Show personalities.
I'll be on the air (LIVE) with David Brown every
Thursday morning from 6:30 AM - 8:30 AM. Yikes.
I'm usually not out of my PJs by 8:30!! FYI:
I'll still be running the Monday morning PSA
spots and the Monday evening Across Turtle
Island program. (smile).
U of M HOMECOMING: Go Griz!! On October 9th is
our University of Montana Home Coming. I believe
it is also a significant year for the school
and/ or Dave's fraternity. So, we are looking
toward a quick trip to Missoula, MT.
NEW MOON PRAYER: Last week, on September 22,
many Native American/ First Nations and other
Indigenous peoples came together in one accord
for prayer. Specifically for peace and unity
among Indigenous peoples. I was first told about
the day of prayer by my tribe's chief, Walking
Bear. He said that elders and leaders from many
nations and tribes would pray that day, as well
as the New Moon of each month. Please join us on
the next Indigenous Day of Prayer on October 14.
WASHINGTON DC: On October 20-23, 2004 I will be
in Washington DC, joining prayer warriors from
around the country who will be gathering at the
National Mall for the America for Jesus Rally.
NOMEE MEMORIAL POW-WOW: On October 29-31, 2004
my family and I will be going to the Coeur D
Alene Indian Reservation to visit Tom & Wilma
Bob and help out with their pow-wow.
MISSION AMERICA COALITION: This years annual
convention will be in San Diego, California on
Nov. 2 - Nov. 4. This is something that I would
really like to attend. Please pray with me
concerning this opportunity.
www.missionamerica.org .
MANY NATIONS ONE VOICE: Wiconi International
will be hosting another MN1V in Portland, Oregon
on Nov. 18-20. This is another meeting that we
really would like to attend. Please pray with us
about this opportunity, as well.

BUSINESS BRIEFS
=============
DBRB: We have now invested a little bit on a
MUCH improved On-Line Native American/ Christian
Bookstore. This is one of many steps toward our
desire to actually have a little store to run
our Designs By Running Brook business. We are
hoping that through the on-line store, as well
as Native / Christian music in stores on
consignment, we can eventually build enough
revenue to open a shop. I'll sell Native/
Christian music, as well as other Native related
items AND do the web-design business from the
shop. I'll also have a place for people to come
and 'talk' while they are visitting the shop.
Pray with us and visit our on-line store. Click
the links at www.runningbrookdesigns.com .
COVILL & BASHAM: Also please continue to pray
for Dave's general construction business, Covill
and Basham Construction LLC. They have a lot
going on right now. Thanks!
