FIRST NATIONS MONDAY, Inc.
"Holding Up The People In Prayer"

"Friends, please pray for us!"  ( 1 Thessalonians 5:25 CEV).  Hundreds of years ago, this was the cry and exhortation of the apostle Paul.  Today, it is the heart's cry of the Creator's children serving in Native American Ministry.  First Nations Monday, Inc.  (FNM) was created in response to that cry.

FNM is a First Nations prayer network and Internet resource ministry based in northwestern Montana.  Their mission is to support, encourage and unite Native American Ministries around the country through a multifaceted prayer mobilization effort and through various web and Internet services.  They also seek to introduce the non-Native Body of Christ to the needs of prayer support and consideration for those serving in Native Ministry.

They are accomplishing this through as many forms of communication and media as possible.  In addition to their website (www.firstnationsmonday.com), Internet prayer networks and local radio broadcast, they distribute a 52 week prayer guide/ ministry brochure, "Prayer Guide for First Nations People and Those Serving In Native Ministry."  They are also connected with various on-line Native networks, such as 1000 Tipis, Native Jesus Way Web Ring, and Native Believers, as well as prayer ministries such as Intercessors for America, the Lighthouse Movement, and the Mission America Coalition.  FNM is especially grateful for the opportunities to promote Native people and ministry in national publications, such as the recent highlight in Pray! magazine.  They believe that as we join together, praying for one another and supporting one another, we will witness a powerful move of the Creator in, through and for 'the People' across the land.

Many years ago, the Lord spoke to the founder, Jeny Covill, through His Word, revealing a portion of His heart concerning an element of past evangelism of Native people.  Jeremiah 6:14 CEV says, "All they ever offer to my deeply wounded people are empty hopes for peace."  As her heart broke, she purposed in her heart not to follow in the footsteps of Judah's priests and prophets.  Jeny asked the Lord to let her know the woundedness of His First Nations people to allow her to minister in a way that was not empty and superficial.  She believes that He has answered that prayer through the birthing of First Nations Monday.
